We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Services Manager to lead our team at a single site.

Job Description:

The Environmental Services Manager oversees and supervises the environmental services staff, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements. This role involves providing leadership, support, coordination, and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met. The Manager is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the timely and satisfactory completion of projects and programs within the building. Additionally, they maintain accurate records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment. They also ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of all equipment and an adequate supply of janitorial materials for the facility. The Manager acts as a liaison between building occupants or administrators and the environmental services staff, effectively communicating directives and ensuring professional conduct at all times. Training, quality control, and in-servicing staff are also among the Manager’s responsibilities.

Job Functions:

· Conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, and orient housekeeping, floor care, and laundry staff.

· Foster employee engagement by championing HMG Healthcare’s recognition programs.

· Facilitate communication across different shifts to ensure task completion.

· Maintain appropriate staffing levels and create schedules for all environmental services staff.

· Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of all environmental services employees, ensuring equal distribution of tasks.

· Train workers in housekeeping, floor care, and laundry methods, procedures, and proper equipment operation.

· Conduct daily quality control inspections and follow through on assignments, directives, and projects to ensure completion.

· Cross train and develop personnel for multiple positions and responsibilities.

· Engage in planning and budgeting activities.

· Manage the environmental services program cost-effectively.

· Forecast and plan the purchase of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.

· Maintain required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records.

· Ensure that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained.

· Interact appropriately with residents, clients, other personnel, regional manager, and the public.

· Respond to customer preferences, comply with industry, federal, and state guidelines, and meet the needs of residents.

· Perform the job assignments of the light housekeeper, heavy housekeeper, laundry aide, and personal clothing worker, if necessary.

· Recognize hazards, follow appropriate protective equipment measures, read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) sheets, and communicate/train employees as needed.

· Handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.

· Develop, maintain, and implement infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

· A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

· Two years of experience in environmental services in a healthcare environment and personnel supervision are desired.

· Basic computer skills are preferred.

· Must provide a criminal background check.

Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to motivate and supervise housekeeping, laundry, and floor care personnel.

· General knowledge and understanding of housekeeping, laundry, and floor care.

· Ability to understand and implement basic infection control procedures.

· Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.

· Knowledge of housekeeping, laundry, and floor care program requirements.

· Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.

· Effective written and oral communication and teaching skills.

· Understanding of housekeeping, laundry, and floor care program finances.

· Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, other personnel, and the public.

· Additional Information:
